imangine thinking holo rigging is much better than niji’s. fact is all of holo rigging sucks – they sway back and forth so much, their faces look so one dimensional and like a triangle when they turn their face to the side, their mouth rigging is atrocious and they can even show basic expressions without a toggle. While niji has bad rigs too esp the older models, their good rigs blow holo’s shit out the water. voltaction members and pretty sure the newer members can even pull their tongue out and puff cheeks without a freaking toggle
Holo’s 3.0s (i think) can also do the tongue thing. And the thread isn’t necessarily wrong, Niji riggers ARE limited because Niji has a specific app and they don’t want to outsource. Some holo rigs, like Nerissa and Axel, do have strange angles and mouth rigging can be atrocious, but we have to remember that they outsource for rigs, so it’s less holo’s rigging being weird and more like some riggers have weird specks.
I will agree that I enjoy how little niji’s sway. it’s easy on the eyes.
what’s the benefit in holo outsourcing when the end result is even worse than niji in-house rigging. there are far more good niji riggings than there are holo riggings. good holo rigging is non-existent
I don’t agree that holo has no good rigging, I think bettel has amazing rigging, but most of them ARE hit or miss. And the benefit to outsourcing? I’m not too sure on that front, but I’m sure it allows for each of them to stand out, but you could also see that as a negative because it only highlights how some of them are good while others are bad. With niji, almost everyone is the same, but some are noticeably worse, all of noctyx, or noticeably better like ren and wilson.

But there are reasons for such, and if anything, nijisanjs models rarely look like they have wrong perspectives and unatural transitions. It’s quite accurate usually

Always feel weird whenever I watch other vtuber outside niji (corpo or indies), their mouth movement and shape not matching with how they talk, either too fast or too slow with weird shape. Also, I don’t like how bouncy and how they always look above or down like many of holo models.
